Proud Member of TherapyDen

About me

It is a priority for me to offer a safe and brave space to folks of many different backgrounds. I have had the immense privilege of working with clients who identify with different cultures, diaspora groups, and identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella. I humbly accept we cannot be experts in everyone’s lived experience, so when my knowledge of lived experience is limited, I welcome the opportunity to learn collaboratively with my clients.

I have lived many lives beyond the therapy room. My years of experience working outside of the mental health space are a great resource I draw on when I work with my clients, as it brings further depth to my understanding of life, family, career, meaning, and purpose.

Prior to receiving my Master’s in Social Work from California State University Northridge—the degree that allowed me to become a clinician—I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Science in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford. Before working in the mental health space, I spent years working in other change-making contexts ranging from migrant and refugee services to international governance and transparency advocacy.

My services

I work with clients on a range of issues, such as anxiety and depression, grief and loss, and questions of identity and belonging.

I believe that therapy should work for you and serve to help you reach your goals, and finding the right clinician for the current step of your journey is part of that process.

Our initial consultation call will help me ensure that I have the skills and expertise necessary to support you, and throughout the course of our work together I will encourage us to have frank and honest conversations about your progress to make sure that good fit is ongoing.

Supervision note

Finally, note that as an associate clinical social worker, I am under the direct clinical supervision of Dalia Safaradi, LCSW. That means I am in the process of accumulating hours to reach full licensure an LCSW. Dalia provides me with formal and professional oversight that I value greatly.
